A morning of connection, conversation and community will take centre stage at the Mackay Seniors Expo on Tuesday 15th September.
Held from 9am to 12pm at The Big Shed, Mackay Showgrounds, the annual expo brings together more than 80 exhibitors and approximately 2,000 community members, creating a valuable space for older residents, their families, friends and carers to discover what is available across the region.
From local services and support programs to opportunities that encourage wellbeing and community connection, the expo offers something valuable for seniors at every stage of life. It is a chance to ask questions, meet local organisations, discover new possibilities and perhaps make a few new connections along the way.
More than an information event, the expo reflects the importance of creating communities where older people feel valued, included and connected.
The event forms part of the Queensland Government’s state-wide Seniors Month celebrations, which aim to encourage positive attitudes towards older people, support participation and activity, and strengthen community and intergenerational relationships.
With thousands of locals expected to attend, the Mackay Seniors Expo is an opportunity to celebrate the contribution of older members of the community while helping them stay informed, engaged and connected to the people and services around them.
