Athletes Put Against Best In Pacific

Regional athletes will have the opportunity to run, jump and throw among the best in the Pacific this week, with a strong contingent of Mackay region athletes selected in the Regional Australia team for the 2022 Oceania Athletics Championships.

These athletes have been selected in Senior, Under 20, Under 18 or Para grades and doesn’t include the large group of masters athletes who will be competing for Australia in the event, or the Under 16’s who are taking part in a team-based competition.

Mackay region athletes competing for Regional Australia this week are:

James Galea (Discus, Shot Put, Hammer Throw), Jarves Robin (100m, 200m), Oliver Rule (1500m, 2000m Steeplechase), Toby Rule (1500m, 2000m Steeplechase), Cayleb Ticehurst (400m), Elizabeth Lee (Long Jump, High Jump), Mikayla Webb (100m, 200m), Sachini Godamunne (100m, 200m), Ngakau Ufton (100m, 200m), Nathaniel Benjamin-Beer (Javelin), Kayce Hoani-Vincent (Pole Vault) and Liam Mumford (800m).
