Cannons Make a Splash at First Club Night

The Cannonvale Cannons Swimming Club launched its new season with a fantastic turnout, with 50 swimmers diving into the first Club Night.

‍

The Cannons were delighted to welcome new and returning swimmers, along with their families, for an exciting evening of racing, personal achievements and club spirit.

‍

The night began with a special presentation recognising two outstanding record-breakers. Jax Clayworth received certificates for setting an impressive nine new club records, while Eloise Chegwidden was recognised for setting two records at the Cannons’ Winter Carnival.

Club Upgrade certificates were also presented to Dusty Papa, Toby Papa, Sunday Hounsell, Alfie Konopka, Lily Woolston, Harris Delac, Stella Mulliss, Levi Smith, Indi Smith, Eloise Chegwidden and Jax Eaves.

There were many excellent performances throughout the evening. Zavier Woolston showed tremendous determination in the challenging 200-metre butterfly, while Harris Delac completed a strong 100-metre freestyle in exactly 1:10.00.

Airlie M was in superb form, achieving four massive personal-best times. Hudson, Bodhi and Flynn Willems also impressed at their first Club Night, while it was wonderful to see Matilda Nicholes, Finn Temple and Lennox Wild returning to form.

The Cannons sincerely thank all the wonderful parents, volunteers and coaches who helped the night run smoothly, along with the Doherty and Hounsell families for cooking an awesome barbecue.

Congratulations also to the Palmero family, the lucky winners of the Father’s Day raffle.
