Early Detection Is The Key To Saving Lives

By Michelle Landry, Federal Member for Capricornia

‍

Early detection saves lives, and when it comes to breast cancer, recognising the warning signs and attending regular screenings can make all the difference.

Pink Ribbon Day is an important reminder for women across Central Queensland to prioritise their breast health and take advantage of the screening services available.

‍

Breast cancer affects thousands of Australian women and their families every year but detecting it early can significantly improve treatment options and survival rates.

I encourage eligible women to access BreastScreen Queensland's free mammogram services and speak with their GP about any changes or concerns.

‍

Living in regional Queensland should never be a barrier to accessing potentially lifesaving healthcare.

‍

Pink Ribbon Day is also an opportunity to celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost and acknowledge the dedicated healthcare professionals, researchers and volunteers supporting families through breast cancer.

Together, we can raise awareness, encourage screening and save lives.
