The Whitsunday Brahmans RLFC gathered on April 12th to mark the launch of an exciting new season. Mayor Ry Collins was in attendance to show his support for an iconic local team.
“It was fantastic to hear about the work the club has put in over the off-season,” Mayor Collins said.
“With a new coach at the helm and some strong signings – including former NRL player Adam Clydesdale – there’s plenty to be excited about heading into the season.”

The launch was a great success with more than 120 people in attendance. Café Trilogy provided an outstanding roast dinner for all whilst the RSL delivered exceptional service. MC Trevor Nosworthy ensured the night ran smoothly, keeping the guests entertained. The program included interviews with new recruits, coaches, volunteers and Club President Lisa Milne. A standout highlight was seeing the entire club come together to celebrate the season ahead and acknowledge the hard work and dedication show during pre-season.

A standout announcement was the introduction of an open women’s team for 2026.
“There is a strong sense of excitement across both the club and the wider community as we head into the new season. Building towards the first game is always a special time. We’ve worked hard to foster a welcoming, family-friendly environment throughout pre-season, where players and their families feel comfortable and connected, which makes the lead-up even more meaningful,” said Sarah Milne, Treasurer, Social Media and Events Manager.

The first match of the season will be played on the weekend, April 18th against the Magpies at their home ground in Mackay.
The team are proud to be hosting Round 2 at Les Stagg Oval on ANZAC Day where the team will wear specially designed commemorative jerseys. There will also be community-focused events planned throughout the season including Family Field Day, Ladies and many more to come.
Best of luck to the team for what is hopefully an outstanding season.
