Twenty-three riders from the Mackay and District BMX Club are preparing to take on the world's best after qualifying to represent Australia at the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships in Brisbane.
The prestigious event will be held at the Sleeman BMX Track from July 17 to 25, bringing together the fastest BMX racers from around the globe as they compete for the coveted rainbow jersey.
For the Mackay club, having 23 riders selected to wear the green and gold on home soil is a remarkable achievement and reflects the dedication, determination and countless hours of training invested throughout the season.
A spokesperson for Mackay and District BMX Club said the selection was a proud moment for the entire club.
"To have 23 Mackay and District BMX Club riders earn the opportunity to wear the green and gold on home soil is an outstanding achievement and a testament to their hard work, dedication and commitment through the season," the spokesperson said.
