A newlywed couple shared a little piece of their wedding-day with patients at Mater Private Hospital Mackay when they donated the leftover flowers following their celebrations.
The flowers offered an unexpected spark of joy for patients spending time in hospital, giving the wedding blooms a second life rather than letting them go to waste.
According to the hospital, the gesture was warmly received by patients, who were grateful to have something beautiful to brighten their stay.
“Small gestures like this make such a big difference. Patients were filled with gratitude to receive a little extra during their stay,” the representative said.
While a wedding is traditionally a day centred on celebrating the happy couple, this local pair extended that joy to others in the community.
It is a simple gesture, but one that demonstrates how small acts of kindness can bring comfort and connection during others’ difficult or uncertain times.
