Local bowlers travelled to Bowen and Mackay on the weekend to compete in some Bowls Carnivals. John Fielding (Airlie Beach), Luchie Gardel, Gavin Milne and Barry Saroglia won back-to-back Bowen Bowls Club Fours Carnival winning 4 out of 5 games and drawing the fifth.

On Saturday fifty-four people ran, jogged and walked the 5km waterfront course. Seventeen were first timers from locations that included Airlie Beach, Bowen, Cairns, Mackay and Melbourne. Four people recorded new Personal Bests - well done Martin, Nyrie, Gus and Laura.
