Parking in Airlie Beach just got a whole lot easier thanks to an additional 300 free carparking spaces designed to encourage visitors and locals to head into town without worrying about the added expense of parking fees
This is good news for locals, workers, visitors and business owners as the newly surfaced Waterson Way Car Park now open and offering free parking spaces conveniently located close to the heart of Airlie Beach.
Council says the majority of the line marking is complete and the motorists can now start using these spaces.
The new car park also includes six accessible parking spaces and several motorcycle bays to cater for a range of users.
“There are still a few finishing touches to come, including lighting, signage and some wheel stops, with the final area to bring more than 300 free spaces once complete,” said a Council spokesperson.
“Motorists are required to follow all instructional signage and take care while the remaining works are completed.”
