The 10th anniversary of Collinsville Bacon Busters brought another huge day of action to town, drawing competitors, families and visitors together for one of the community’s most anticipated events.

Hunters brought in 226 pigs weighing a combined 9,341.95 kilograms, almost nine and a half tonnes. The Yeah the Sows team claimed the biggest boar at 105 kilograms, while the heaviest sow caught by Rhy Reeses tipped the scales at 122.3 kilograms. Daniel Honnery recorded the longest tusks at a piercing 175 millimetres, while Karl Hocking took out the biggest barrel category with a 170-kilogram catch.

Beyond the hogs, the day delivered plenty of country-style fun, with a mullet competition, gymkhana relay, dog jumping, touch footy, amusement park rides and an ironman obstacle course featuring barrel jumping giving attendees plenty to do.

The Collinsville State High School Student Council also joined in the fun, selling showbags to raise funds for the school.
