Port Denison Gun Club turned pink on 27th September, raising $4,760 for breast cancer support, with the club topping up the donation to $5,000.

‍

Sponsored by Mardos Mangoes, the fundraiser attracted 44 shooters for a day of competition, with donated raffle prizes and pink morning teas adding a big of flavour to the meet.

“Even our morning teas were all pink, we had marshmallows and cakes, everything was pink,” said Club Secretary Colin Edgerton.

Shooters competed in a 25-target point score event and a 75-target Champion of Champions event, shot from 18 metres, which drew interest from competitors across the Burdekin, Townsville and Mackay areas.

“It went really well, and because it was such a success, we’re going to do it again next year but next year, we’re going to do it for prostate cancer,” Colin said.
