Bush Walkers Discover The Beauty Of Mt William

‍

Activities centred on the Eungella area last Saturday, as a small group led by Ken Fihelly travelled along Dalrymple Road to access Mt William, climb it, and then pick up Pretty Creek to descend in order to return via the Western Trail. Mt William is NE of Eungella,
and is covered in some sections by rich rainforest, and was currently moist and the mosses were plentiful, but so were the leeches. The participants were walking amongst the impressively large trees that Mt William is known for, and great views across to Mt Dalrymple and Mt David, and parts of the Pioneer Valley were available from the top near the old trig point. A route eastwards down to the saddle and on to the east peak was followed easily.

‍

The group then walked down to Pretty Creek, beautiful with many moss covered trees, mostly open and gently sloping. The creek was followed downstream to the Western Trail, and out to the cars, parked near the end of Dalrymple Road.

‍

Future activities for club members include Lineel Falls, Sydney Heads Bluff, a cycling event, and Rawson’s Creek. Enquiries regarding membership can be answered by phoning 0429 363 929.
