The Finch Hatton community came together on Sunday, August 9, for Echoes of the Gorge, a free community art event celebrating local creativity, culture and connection.

Organised by the Finch Hatton Progress Association as part of the Mackay Festival of Arts, the event transformed the Old Finch Hatton Railway Station into a creative hub featuring free workshops, local art and artisan markets, exhibitions and live music.

Led by local artists, volunteers, residents and businesses, the event offered activities for all ages, including painting, weaving, watercolour, felting, crochet and music workshops. Visitors could also view an exhibition by local artist Anneka Meeder, whose work explored mystical beings and the spirit of trees.

The event also encouraged visitors to explore other attractions throughout the Pioneer Valley, supporting local businesses and showcasing the region’s creative community.
