Over 3000 people browsed the Hand Made Markets, held at Fair Tree Park on the Airlie Beach Foreshore on Sunday, with many picking up a unique item or simply enjoying the lively atmosphere of this vibrant event.
With 32 stalls, the markets offered a variety of handmade wares including pottery, candles, jewellery, and homewares.
This year for the first time, organisers also incorporated a food element to the event.
“Food is one of the most important handmade items!” said festival coordinator, Jade Richardson.
“It was so wonderful to see so many locals come on the day and there was an incredible atmosphere, a great vibe and all the stall holders told me they had a successful day.”
The Hand Made Markets operate under the umbrella of the Whitsundays Arts Festival which has moved to a bi-annual event but would usually be held around this time each year.
Jade said that following the success of their first standalone event, she is keen to organise a Christmas Markets in Proserpine later in the year.
