A local couple recently took to social media to share praise of the staff at Proserpine Hospital, recognising the incredible work and care the team provided while welcoming their first child.

‍

Michael Campbell said he and his partner were grateful for the care they received from the hospital’s midwives and medical team throughout the birth.

He said the team went above and beyond to ensure his partner felt comfortable, supported and cared for during the experience.

‍

“Every member of the team went above and beyond to make sure my partner was comfortable, supported and genuinely cared for,” Mr Campbell wrote.

The first-time father also highlighted the importance of having dedicated healthcare professionals working in a regional community.

‍

He said the team’s kindness, patience and reassuring nature had made a significant difference during one of the most important moments of their lives.

Mr Campbell thanked the hospital staff for their professionalism, compassion, sense of humour and care towards his partner and newborn.

‍

“Living in a regional community like the Whitsundays, I think it's easy to overlook just how fortunate we are to have such dedicated healthcare professionals right on our doorstep,” he wrote.

‍

The family said the care they received had helped make the life-changing experience even more special and was something they would never forget.

‍

Mr Campbell encouraged other families who had experienced similar care to take a moment to recognise the Proserpine Hospital team.
