Next Wave Of First Year Constables Ready To Serve
Yesterday, 35 recruits graduated from the QPS Academy in Oxley, and will now be deployed to locations across Queensland to protect and serve the local communities, with one constable joining in Sarina, and one in Mackay.
After spending seven years as a police officer in Taiwan, Constable Kai Chin says he aligns with the QPS values and is looking forward to starting a rewarding career in Mackay.
“I imagine being a police officer in a different country will be challenging but rewarding, I’m really looking forward to it,” Constable Chin said.
“The members of the QPS live their values of integrity, respect and courage.
These are values that I align with both professionally and personally.”
Acting Commissioner Brett Pointing APM congratulated the graduates and welcomed them to the QPS, acknowledging the commitment and discipline they had demonstrated throughout their training.
“Graduation marks a significant milestone and the beginning of a rewarding career in service to the Queensland community,” Acting Commissioner Pointing said.
“Each new officer brings their own strengths, experiences and perspectives to the QPS. I encourage them to continue learning, uphold the highest standards and earn the trust of the communities they serve.”
