The Shag Islet Cruising Yacht Club (SICYC) is preparing to bring four days of fun and fundraising back to the Whitsundays, with its annual Rendezvous once again throwing its support behind the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Running from 27th to 30th August at Cape Gloucester Resort, this year’s “Nauti-Cal Schoolies” themed Rendezvous will bring the boating community together for a packed program of entertainment, competitions and social activities; all while supporting an important cause.

Fundraising for prostate cancer will feature throughout the weekend, including opportunities for attendees to purchase event memorabilia and take part in activities supporting the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

On Saturday, representatives from the foundation will be on hand alongside a specialist nurse from Mackay Hospital and Health Service, giving attendees the opportunity to learn more about prostate cancer, available support and the importance of awareness.

The weekend will also include the popular “Shaggers Salon”, where attendees can brave a shave for prostate cancer, along with raffles and major auctions helping raise further funds.

Beyond the fundraising, there will be no shortage of entertainment across the four-day program.

Festivities include live music, themed dress-up competitions for boats and caravans, beach games, yoga, a book swap, a pirate farewell party and Saturday night fireworks.

Grey nomads have also been invited to join the fun, with a special “land lubbers” morning tea planned for Saturday.

The annual Rendezvous has become an opportunity for SICYC members, visitors and the wider boating community to enjoy the Whitsundays while rallying behind the fight against prostate cancer.

Tickets are $35 per person, with caravan and camping available on site for an additional fee. Bookings are essential, with registrations available through Humanitix.
