The Slade Point foreshore will come alive this weekend as SplashFest Mackay returns for a free community celebration featuring live entertainment, local markets, food, family activities and a celebration of the region’s coastline.
Hosted by the Slade Point Progress Association Inc., the event will bring together locals and visitors at Ram Chandra Park on Saturday, August 8, from 10am to 8pm.
Held during Mackay’s whale season and turtle nesting season, SplashFest will showcase the natural environment alongside the creativity and community spirit of the region.

Attendees can enjoy live music, community performances, local market stalls, handmade goods, food vendors, kids activities, interactive experiences and roaming entertainment throughout the day.
The event aims to provide an opportunity for families, friends and community members to gather by the water, support local performers and businesses, and celebrate the unique coastal lifestyle that makes Slade Point special.
With activities and entertainment planned from morning through to evening, organisers are encouraging the community to bring a picnic rug, invite friends and family, and enjoy a day of connection, culture and coastal celebration.
