St. Patrick’s College students are getting into the spirit of giving, sewing handmade bags to be distributed to seafarers far from home.
The crafted bags will be filled with toiletries, food, and other essential items and delivered with the assistance of Mercy Works.
The life of a SeaFarer can be an isolated one, with long-term voyages keeping individuals from their friends, family, and loved ones for up to nine months at a time.

The Stella Maris appeal aims to show appreciation for their dedication, with the bags sewn by St Patrick’s students set to bring support and comfort at a time when it may be needed most.

“Through this initiative, we continue to put our Catholic values of compassion, hope, justice and respect into action, showing how small acts of service can make a meaningful difference,” a spokersperson for the school shared.
