Currently walking his way around Australia, social media icon Catman found himself passing through the Whitsundays this week, where he attracted more than a few wandering eyes.

Kentaro Jin, otherwise known as Catman, has walked about 6,500 kilometres from Carnarvon in Western Australia to Sydney over the past two and a half years, becoming known for his distinctive Catman character and the friendships he has formed in communities across the country.

While the journey began without a clear purpose, the encouragement Ken received during the difficult stretch between Carnarvon and Perth, where Children chanted “Go, my hero,” and gave him handmade drawings, inspired him to imbue his with a deeper meaning.

Ken decided to use his growing profile to support children battling serious illnesses, turning his long walk into a fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

As Catman continues his amble up north, those who want to donate to his cause can visit here.
