A musical tour of hits from around the world, both new and familiar, the program for Come Fly With Me has been in the planning for almost a year.
“Jan Whelan and I have spent many hours discussing, discarding and dissecting the repertoire selection you will hear,” said Musical Director Nicole Thomson.
“Covering eclectic styles including jazz, film, theatre and Australiana standards, we love each and every arrangement and know that you will too.”
With a long and distinguished career as an accompanist in the highest regard, Ms Whelan OAM returns to the Mackay Choral Society once more, and has been an integral part of the planning and executing of this program, aside from her accompanying role.
This is also the first solo show that Bernie Camilleri-Cheng has produced since becoming President of the Mackay Choral Society.
His enthusiasm for choral music of great quality and his energy at rehearsal has spread amongst the group throughout rehearsals.
With beautiful arrangements and a gorgeous musical blend, Come Fly With Me will have you tapping your toes and perhaps even singing along.
