Hundreds of Mackay residents laced up their runners, volunteered their time and cheered from the sidelines as the community came together in support of the annual BMA CQ Rescue Fun Run earlier this month.
Held at Iluka Park last Sunday 2nd August, the event saw participants tackle 5km, 7.78km and 10km courses along the Bluewater Trail, with every registration and donation helping to keep the region's community-funded rescue helicopter in the air.
Beyond the runners, the success of the event relied on a dedicated team of volunteers, sponsors and supporters who helped with everything from course setup and water stations to merchandise sales and event coordination.
BMA CQ Rescue thanked everyone who played a part in making the morning such a success.
"Thank you to every single person who laced up their runners, volunteered their time, cheered from the sidelines, or helped make the day such a success," the organisation said.
"Your support helps keep our community-funded rescue helicopter flying for those who need it most."
