Regional hairdressers deserve the same opportunities to learn and grow as their city counterparts, inspiring Mackay hairdresser of 30 years, Bianca Kemp, to establish Chair Culture Education and bring quality, hands-on industry education closer to home.
As a locally owned business, supporting the regional hairdressing community is at the heart of Bianca's investment.
“Chair Culture Education is a locally owned business, and supporting these workshops means supporting a local business that's investing money, opportunities and growth back into our region,” she says.
Kicking things off on Monday 22nd February 2027, award-winning stylist Sheridan Shaw from MAMA WEST will lead a six-hour, hands-on cutting workshop at CQUniversity Mackay City Campus.
Instead of just watching demonstrations, attendees will have the opportunity to work alongside an experienced educator, ask questions, practise new techniques and build confidence they can take straight back into the salon.
The workshop will also launch Culture Give Back, an initiative where one lucky participant at every Chair Culture Education event will receive a voucher towards future education, encouraging continued learning and professional growth.
Bianca says, “It's my way of giving back to the hairdressing community and encouraging hairdressers to keep learning, growing and investing in their careers.”
While Bianca hopes to eventually expand into Townsville and Cairns, her focus remains on building something meaningful in Mackay.
Tickets are already available, with a Salon Crew offer giving two or more hairdressers from the same salon $100 off each ticket.
