North Mackay Bowls Club (Goosies) held the ladies Champion of Champions fours district finals. North Mackay faced Marian in the final.
With a close and tense final, it went down to the wire with North Mackay winners from a valiant Marian team by 1 point.
The week prior, Lydia McCarthy won the B Singles District Championships played at Marian in challenging windy conditions.
North Mackay celebrated success in this year’s pennants. Its ladies pennant teams, divisions 1, 3 and 4 and the men’s pennant team division 2, were all winners in this year’s district competitions.
The club celebrated with a joint dinner at Goosies Sport and Recreation Club. Ladies president Lorraine Silman welcomed and thanked all players who attended and for playing in this year’s competition. Mick Mackenzie and Ron Bowers also thanked all players in response.
