A local woman who purchased just three tickets in the Chances House Community Car Fundraiser has walked away with a brand-new set of wheels.
The winner, who has recently retired, had previously spoken with Chances House about how she and her husband could support the organisation.
With approximately 70,000 tickets sold across the fundraiser, Chances House representatives said they were delighted to see the winning ticket go to someone who had already shown an interest in supporting the local community.
“She purchased just three tickets...proof that you really do have to be in it to win it!” a Chances House representative said.
The fundraiser, made possible through North Jacklin Motor Group and the Rotary Club of Mackay North, provided a valuable boost to Chances House, with ticket sales through the organisation raising $3,000.
The funds will go directly towards supporting local people experiencing homelessness, adding another positive outcome to the community initiative.
Chances House thanked everyone who purchased tickets through the organisation and congratulated the winner on her new car.
