On October 1, at about 4.15pm, Police allegedly intercepted a Toyota Landcruiser traveling at a spend of 144 kilometres an hour, in a 100 kilometre an hour speed zone. Police spoke to the alleged driver, a 44-year-old Midge Point man, who allegedly explained that he was overtaking vehicles as he wanted to be home in time to watch the football.
