Mackay North School Community Shaves For A Cause

When students and teachers sat in the barber’s chair at Mackay North State School recently they came away with more than just a new look, raising more than $7,000 through their World’s Greatest Shave fundraiser.

‍

The total is still growing, with donations continuing to come in following the event.

A school representative said the day was a huge success, with students and staff getting behind the fundraiser and helping turn a few haircuts into a significant contribution.

‍

“[Student] Seth Wright was the mastermind behind this event,” a school representative shared.  

“Well done for raising awareness and honouring Dad with your efforts.”

One of the standout fundraisers was Zane Harold, who topped the school’s donations tally after raising an impressive $2,142 on his own.

The day also featured a surprise haircut, with Mrs Williams deciding to chop off and donate her long locks.

‍

“A huge thank you to all our participants today, as well as Jamayne and Dontae from Elite Studio 11, Jacqui Rose, Faye, Liam, Miss Lileigh and Miss Hollee our very talented hair dressers and barbers,” the school representative said.
