A 17-year-old Clermont boy passed away in hospital on the afternoon of September 21st, following a serious traffic crash in Isaac.
Emergency services were called to Peak Downs Highway near the intersection of Blue Mountain road at 6.45am following reports a Toyota Hilux utility had collided with an Isuzu Pantechnicon truck.
The 17-year-old boy, the sole occupant of the ute, sustained serious injuries and was transported to hospital where he sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the truck, a man in his 20s, was also transported to Mackay Base hospital with minor injuries.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, and police have urged anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage to contact them at www.police.qld.gov.au/reporting.
