On Sunday, November 2nd, from 2–5pm, all Whitsunday families are invited to a meet and greet for the newly formed kids’ club — the Whitsunday “Reefies.”
The Reefies is a new initiative by the Whitsunday Game Fish Club aimed at teaching kids under 16 the basics of fishing, water safety, and safe boating practices. The club will also help young members organise their own fishing and social activities, all under supervision, while developing skills that will last a lifetime.
The afternoon will be hosted by Dave and Stacey Cranmer, Jodie Richardson, and Shantelle Schroeder, who will be gathering input from kids and parents about what direction the club should take, what activities they’d like to see, and ideas for upcoming events.
There’ll be games, competitions, a special guest appearance, and a sausage sizzle. Oceanic Tales will also give an informative talk about water safety and potential dangers to avoid.
The afternoon is free, and everyone is welcome to come along and be part of this exciting new venture for the Whitsunday community.
