Battery Blaze Contained At Bowen Landfill

Just last week, a fire broke out at the Bowen Landfill located at 908 Bowen Developmental Road after a selection of used batteries were disposed of incorrectly. It’s suspected the blaze was caused after a lithium-ion battery was wrongfully placed in the scrap metal pile at the dumping grounds.
