After years helping shape the Whitsundays' growth through planning and regional strategy, Neil McGaffin has turned his attention to commercial real estate, joining Taylor's Property Specialists as a consultant agent.
After almost three months with Taylor's Property Specialists, Neil is still new to the real estate industry, but far from new to property.
As a qualified town planner, he spent years in local and state government, with 10 being served right here in the Whitsunday’s, as the council's Director of Regional Strategy and Planning.
Rather than returning to local government after leaving the council, Neil decided to take his knowledge in a different direction. He said he had always enjoyed talking with people about property, development opportunities and investment, making commercial real estate a natural next step to stay in the region he thinks is the best.
"I enjoy talking to people about property developments and opportunities that they might be able to invest in the local area," Neil said.
"I've lived in many different areas across Australia and this is certainly one of the best."
For Neil, selling property is also about showcasing the lifestyle that comes with it, with the region's natural beauty, relaxed way of life and welcoming community often proving just as appealing as the properties themselves.
"The attraction is the area, the lifestyle, the environment, and the housing is what people are searching for to accommodate their budget, so that they can start as part of the community and enjoy what everyone else here knows is pretty spectacular," he said.
