A very successful Eungella King & Queen of the Mountain outing for the Hayles family – Oscar (4th Junior male), Isabelle (3rd Junior female) , Emily (2nd Open female), Lissy and Stephen Hayles.
Congratulations to the runners and cyclists who took part in the annual Historical King and Queen of the Mountain last weekend.
Perfectly cool conditions provided an ideal setting for quality racing, with nearly 100 athletes making their way from the small township of Netherdale to the beautiful Eungella Chalet, with spectacular scenic vistas along the route.
The event would not be where it is today without the valuable support of its loyal sponsors: Eungella Chalet’s Tess and team; M-Test’s Merv and Wendy Shields; Podiatry Mackay’s Donald Orr; Veronica Pettifer, who sponsors The Laura Pettifer Inspirational Trophy; Torque Tyres & Trailers; and Cloudbreak Lowline Eungella Beef’s Kel and Mandy.

Several volunteers from Mackay Cycle Club and Mackay Road Runners are also to be congratulated for their involvement in staging this magnificent event and helping make the annual race a success.
